Madhya Pradesh police issued a directive in the wake of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) asking WhatsApp group administrators to ensure objectionable comments affecting law and order are not posted.

Curfew was imposed in some areas in Jabalpur yesterday following violent protests.

Schools would remain



closed today as a precautionary measure. District Collector informed that the situation was now under control.

State authorities have clamped prohibitory orders under section 144, banning the assembly of people, in 43 of 52 districts in MP. The police are also keeping a close watch on social media.
