Antyodaya Divas to be organised across country today

Antyodaya Divas will be organised across the country on Tuesday as part of fortnight Swachhata Hi Sewa movement. 

25th September is observed as Antyodaya Diwas every year to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Swachhata Hin Sewa Movement on 15th of this month. 

During the Antyodaya Divas each Swachhagrahi will be asked to create an army of her own

Drinking water and Sanitation Ministry said, each team will work on ODF and ODF activities in their villages, depending on the ODF status of their villages. 

22 States and Union Territories have been declared Open Defecation Free so far. 

The rural sanitation coverage has reached over 93 per cent from 39 per cent in October 2014, when Swachh Bharat Mission was launched.
