Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy's sister, YS Sharmila Reddy, is likely to float her own party in Telangana, a move from which Jaganmohan Reddy has distanced himself.
YS Sharmila Reddy has been a star campaigner for her brother and party --the YSR Congress Party.
However, the two siblings have reportedly disagreed on the idea of expanding YSR Congress Party to Telangana. While Sharmila wants the party to get involved in Telangana politics, Jagan Reddy is of the view that such move would do more harm than good to the party.
On Tuesday, YS Sharmila Reddy held a meeting with her Telangana-based close confidantes. In a Facebook post, she wrote the meeting was called to "understand ground-level situation" in Telangana.
"Just talking to everyone.
Will announce things soon," she wrote, adding that "there is no 'Rajanna Rajayam' in Telangana" at present and she will bring it.
"Jagan Mohan Reddy is doing his work in Andhra Pradesh. I will mind my business in Telangana. We will work together with Telangana YSRCP department. Rajanna's rule is about to come in Telangana. I have not contacted Jagan about the matter. Party formation is a daring decision. The brother and sister relationship between us continues. Politically my way is mine. I will go to the people and will set up a new party in Telangana. I will be limited to issues related to Telangana only," she wrote.
While Sharmila was brainstorming her next move, hundreds of YSR Congress Party workers gathered outside Jaganmohan Reddy's house in an apparent show of strength.
