Vijayawada: AP Crime Investigation Department (CID) has declared war on social media trolls and slug fests in Andhra Pradesh, apart from posting ugly messages and morphing pictures of political rivals.

CID additional director general (ADG) N. Sanjay said they will act tough against all those who post disparaging content on judiciary, political leaders and their families and

others.

Sanjay pointed out that in 2022, the department had prevailed upon social media companies to delete as many as 1,450 inappropriate posts, including political ones. This year, the number stands at 2,164 thus far.

The ADG said 202 abusive social media accounts are being monitored. They have opened 2,972 cyber bully sheets against online abusers.
