Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a comprehensive relief package to support families affected by the unprecedented floods in Vijayawada.

Announcing the aid yesterday, the Chief Minister said, the financial aid and necessary repairs for damaged household items will be provided to those affected in all 32 wards across 179 secretariats in Vijayawada. He said families residing on the ground floors of flood-affected areas will receive financial assistance of 25,000 rupees per household.

Additionally, a financial aid of 10,000 rupees will be provided to residents living on the first and second floors, and those in other affected areas will also receive 10,000



rupees.

The Chief Minister said, small shop owners, including grocery and tea stall owners, will be granted 25,000 rupees as part of the relief efforts. Registered MSMEs with a turnover of less than 40 lakh rupees, will not be required to file GST, and they will receive 50,000 rupees. MSMEs with turnovers between 40 lakh and 1.5 crore rupees will receive 1 lakh rupees, while those exceeding 1.5 crore rupees will receive 1.5 lakh rupees.

Assistance was also announced regarding vehicle insurance claims. Mr. Naidu emphasised that, despite the magnitude of the disaster, the city was restored to normalcy within just ten days with the efforts of the government.
