AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announces new housing plan for poor

Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced new plan for the construction of houses for the poor giving more space and more amenities at less cost. The new plan would increase the living space in the house from the earlier 224 sq ft to 340 sq ft. The earlier model has one bedroom, one living room-cum-kitchen and a toilet whereas the advanced model would have a bedroom,



living room, kitchen and verandah.

In addition, the government would provide two fans, two tube lights, four bulbs and Sintex overhead tank for storing water. The cost of construction has also come down from the earlier Rs 2 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh bringing down the per square foot cost of construction from Rs 893 to Rs 529.
