The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday directed controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik to join the investigations and face questioning. He has been directed to appear before the NIA at its headquarters in Delhi on March 14.
The notice was received by his brother Mohammad Abdul Karim Naik as Zakir Naik is away in Saudi Arabia. Naik
is the founding trustee of the Islamic Research Foundation which was banned by the Home ministry recently.
The NIA is probing several cases against Naik. They include forcible conversions and also indoctrination of youth who took to terror.
The Dhaka Cafe attacker had said that he was inspired by Naik to take up jihad.
