Army yesterday said that more than a week long operation against the infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri Sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district with the killing of an infiltrator and capturing one alive.
The Major General Virendra Vats General Commanding Officer of 19 Infantory Division of Army told media that military operation started in the night of 18th September when a search party observed the movement of infiltrators
on LoC.
He said the infiltrators were 6 in number. Four among them took advantage of darkness and returned to Pakistan after a firefight while two were holed up in a nallah.
He said during the gunbattle, one infiltrator was killed while another was captured alive. Major General Vats further said that the terrorist who has been captured has revealed that he is affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
