Army and National Disaster Response Force personnel continued rescue and relief operations in flood ravaged isolated villages of Kodagu district in Karnataka.

Multiple agencies involved in the operations have so far rescued 4,320 people. Rainfall and landslip has taken toll of 12 people in the district. 

A team of experts from the National Geophysical Research Institute, headed by former Deputy Director-General of Geological Survey of India, H.M.S. Prakash, has started geotechnical studies in areas inflicted by landslips.

have slipped down in many places and many are believed to be trapped in remote areas. Drones are being used to spot stranded people and shift them to relief camps. 

Special care is being taken to prevent outbreak of diseases in the flood hit areas. 

Health inspectors, engineers and municipal workers from Bengaluru are working for maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene. 

Bio-toilets and mobile toilets are despatched to relief camps and clean drinking water is being supplied to villages.
