A Haryana court has issued arrest warrant against Professor Virender, a close aide of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The warrant was issued by a Rohtak court yesterday after Professor Virender failed to appear before police to join investigations in a sedition case registered against him for allegedly instigating the Jats during the agitation for reservation. Rohtak SP Shashank Anand said yesterday that the arrest warrant against
Prof Virender came on a petition filed by Haryana Police.
Prof. Virender, a political advisor of Mr Hooda, was allegedly shown in a phone conversation with one of his aides Maan Singh Dalal directing him to incite arsonists in Bahadurgarh area of Jhajjar district. After the conversation went viral on social media on February 21, Rohtak police booked Prof Virender and Dalal under relevant IPC sections of sedition charges.
