The Arunachal Pradesh government has imposed night curfew in the state starting from 6:30 pm this evening till the morning of May 31st. Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Sharat Chauhan has informed that there shall be total ban on the movement of individuals during the curfew timings, except for those in emergency services.
He informed that tourist inner line permits (ILPs) shall remain suspended till May 31st. All shops and commercial establishments shall shutdown at 4 pm on all days. City buses, intra-district, inter-district and inter-state buses will be allowed to operate with 50 percent
seating capacity.
Meanwhile, the Itanagar Capital Region will go for a week-long lockdown from May 10th to 17th. The decision was taken by the district administration due to the rapid rise of COVID cases in the Capital Region. Itanagar City alone accounts for the highest number of COVID cases in the state with 542 active cases.
In Arunachal Pradesh, 169 fresh COVID cases were detected yesterday while 132 recoveries have been reported. With this, the total number of active cases in the state stands at 1,893 and 60 death have been reported so far. The recovery rate is 90.14 percent.
