All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday came down heavily on the Union government for jeopardizing the career of 23 lakh students who were affected by the paper leak incident. The NEET entrance exam was conducted for admission in undergraduate medical programs. This year, 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 and were declared joint toppers in the exam, breaking the previous record.

However, the declaration of results sparked nationwide concern due to alleged

discrepancies as a record number of students were awarded full scores. Many suspected foul play for the unprecedented rise in the number of candidates scoring full marks.

Asaduddin also referred to the postponement of UGC-NET, CSIR-NET exam at the last moment. He said it had affected 9 lakh students and 2 lakh students respectively. The NEET-PG examination was cancelled a night before the exam and it had affected 2 lakh students, he said in his `X’ account.
