Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will distribute ex gratia to the former militants of the ULFA today in Guwahati. The Chief Minister will provide financial aid of up to 7 lakh rupees to over 900 former militants for their rehabilitation. 

After a series of discussions, ULFA signed a tripartite peace treaty with the



Centre and the Assam government last year. Following the treaty, the State government as per norms decided to provide skill development training to the former cadres of the outfit. Since 2021, over 9.500 former militants of various groups have been given financial aid by the government in the State.
