Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said Assam is the heart of Heritage in India and fast-paced and all round development of Assam is very important to the Government. Earlier The Prime Minister handed over 1.06 lakh Land Pattas/Allotment Certificates to beneficiaries in Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar in Assam.
Speaking on the occasion the PM said he had visited Assam many times in recent years and said the people of Assam have blessed us. The Prime Minister said Assam is a significant part of AatmaNirbharBharat and the way to 'Atmanirbhar Assam' is through 'Atmavishwaas' among the people of Assam.
PM Modi said 40 per cent of Assam's population is taking the benefit of 'Ayushmaan Bharat' scheme of the Central government. He reiterated that the NDA govt has always kept the preservation of the Assamese culture as its foremost intention behind implementing policies including the protection of the Assamese language & promotion of its literature.
The PM said Over 50 lakh gas cylinders have been distributed in Assam and the Centre-State double engine government is also working very hard to supply running water to all the households of the state.
The Prime Minister said Act East policy has strengthened connectivity. He also lauded the Assam government for handling the COVID19 situation in a humanitarian manner and called it praise worthy. He said he was confident that Assam will take forward the vaccination drive now and appealed to all to get vaccinated.
In His speech Mr. Modi fondly recalled the greatest freedom fighter of the
nation Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. He said the entire country is celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji today as 'Prakram Diwas'. The country has made that the decision has been taken to honour and remember Netaji’s indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation. His life gives us inspiration even today, the PM said.
Speaking on the occasion CM of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the biggest well-wisher of Assam and its people. The development of Assam and the northeast region is due to the support given by the Prime Minister Modi, he said.

Earlier the Prime Minister reached the state this morning and was given a warm and traditional welcome. The issuance of Patta and allotment certificates for the indigenous people of Assam has been given highest priority to instill a sense of security amongst them. Assam had five lakh 75 thousand landless families in 2016. The present government has distributed two lakh 28 thousand land Pattas and allotment certificates since May 2016.
Taking into Account an urgent need to protect the Land Rights of indigenous People of the State, Government of Assam came out with a comprehensive New Land Policy with a renewed emphasis on protecting the Land rights of the indigenous People.
