Guwahati: According to officials on Thursday, police in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam have seized contraband worth Rs 6-7 crore in two separate operations.
A senior district police officer informed that they carried out the operations on Wednesday after receiving specific input. Three individuals were held on charges of selling
drugs.
According to John Das, a Bokajan sub-divisional police officer, officers established a checkpoint in the Laharijan district and seized a vehicle there.
“After searching the vehicle, security personnel discovered soup cases containing 306 grams of narcotics. A person was apprehended. His name is Fayas Uddin, and he hails from the Doboka region of Bokajan.
