As month of March is in its last leg, the rise in temperature can be felt. Even Shimla on March 28 witnessed the highest temperature in last seven years at 25.6 degree celsius.

In March 2010, Shimla had recorded 25.8 degree Celsius, whereas in 2004, the hill town recorded the temperature as high as 27.2 degree Celsius.

Manmohan Singh, director of Shimla Meteorological centre said,



“It is the third highest temperature recorded. As per records with the Met department, the highest temperature was recorded in March 2004 at 27.2 °C.”

The highest temperature ever witnessed by the the town in last 50 years was on May 27 2010, when the temperature recorded was 32.4 degree Celsius. Since the MeT department has started recording, this was the highest temperature ever witnessed.
