At least 10 missing after boat capsizes in Assam's Dhubri

Rescue operation is being carried out to trace the missing people following the boat capsize in the Brahmaputra at Dhubri district of Assam.

Additional deep divers have been deployed to rescue the missing people. Official sources informed that at least 9 to 10 persons including a Circle Officer are missing in the tragic boat accident. Around 30 people were on the boat when the incident occurred. Some of the



passengers were swum to safety while SDRF also rescued some of them. 

The tragic incident occurred when the Circle Officer of Dhubri along with other field officials were returning from inspecting erosion-affected areas caused by the Brahmaputra. It is suspected that the boat man unknowingly hit a pillar of the under construction bridge over the Brahmaputra.
