At least four people were injured after a lintel of a flyover on National Highway 28 collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti early on Saturday morning. The incident occurred after an overloaded truck hit the flyover.
There were no reports of casualties so far though several are feared trapped under the
debris. Rescue operations are underway.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the local administration to initiate immediate relief work.
A similar incident took place on May 15, in which 18 people were killed after an under-construction flyover collapsed in Varanasi.
