At least ten people were killed and over 20 others sustained injuries after a bus collided with a truck in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district yesterday morning.

The bus was heading to Lakhimpur when the accident occurred near a bridge under Isanagar police station area. Condoling the accident, chief minister Yogi Adityanath directed the senior officials to reach the spot and ensure proper treatment for the injured.



Commissioner of Lucknow Roshan Jacob reached Lakhimpur and visited the injured in the hospital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives in the Lakhimpur Kheri accident in Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister announced a compensation of two lakh rupees from PM's National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will be given 50 thousand rupees
