Baba Siddique's son Zeeshan receives death threat again, extortionists demand Rs 10 crore

In a disturbing development, Zeeshan Siddique, senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), has reportedly received a fresh death threat via email, intensifying concerns over his safety. The threat, demanding a ransom of Rs 10 crore, ominously referenced the fatal shooting of his father, veteran politician Baba Siddique, in October last year.

Sources close to the matter revealed that the threatening email was sent from an unidentified account and warned Zeeshan Siddique of dire consequences if he failed to comply with the extortion demand. The email reportedly stated, “What happened to your father will happen to you.” It also claimed that the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Baba Siddique’s murder was falsely portrayed and mentioned the notorious underworld syndicate "D-Company."

Zeeshan Siddique promptly informed the Mumbai Police after receiving the threat. A team from the Bandra Police Station quickly reached his residence to record his statement, and the cyber cell launched a detailed investigation to trace the origin of the email.

According to police officials, Zeeshan has received at least three threatening



emails to date, each intensifying in tone. The messages included chilling references to the assassination of his father and indicated that if the extortion amount was paid, further instructions would be shared.

This latest threat comes just months after the shocking murder of Baba Siddique on October 12, 2024. The former Maharashtra minister was gunned down outside Zeeshan's Bandra East office by three assailants. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the high-profile killing at the time.

Authorities are currently examining whether the recent threat is part of a larger, organised extortion racket. While the sender of the threatening emails remains unidentified, police have not ruled out links to underworld elements. Mumbai Police confirmed that an FIR is being registered at Bandra Police Station, and investigations are ongoing on multiple fronts — including cyber forensics and organised crime links.

The repeated targeting of Zeeshan Siddique has raised serious questions about the safety of political figures in Maharashtra, especially those previously associated with high-profile criminal cases.
