Bengaluru: The Bandhan ceremony held as part of Aero India Show on Wednesday in Bengaluru resulted in the forging of 266 partnerships including 201 MoUs, 53 major announcements, nine product launches and three transfer of technology worth around 80,000 crore rupees.
An MoU was signed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Safran Helicopter Engines of France to form a Joint Venture to design, develop and manufacture Helicopter engines. Bharat Electronics Limited and Aeronautical Development Agency signed an MoU to work together on Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft.
Number of other MoUs were signed with foreign companies to develop drones for supplying essentials to the Indian army serving in difficult terrains in the
borders. MoU were also signed in the areas of jointly developing passenger aircraft, autonomous weaponised boat swarms, missiles, rockets and engines.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh who was present during the Bandhan ceremony said that the MoUs and Transfer of Technologies agreements made today will pave the way for enhanced FDI in Defence and take the Manufacturing sector to a new height. The Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande and senior officials from the Ministry of Defence present on this occasion.
