After it was reported that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister had fled Bangladesh amid ongoing violence in the country, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that they will support the whatever decision the central government takes in the matter.
The Bengal CM also appealed to the
people to maintain peace in the state urging them not to pay attention to any kind of rumors.
"I would appeal to the people of Bengal to maintain peace. Do not pay attention to any kind of rumours. This is a matter between two countries, we will support whatever decision the central government takes," Mamata Banerjee said.
