Bhakra Beas Management Board accomplished another feat by achieving highest ever power generation of 625.26 Lakh Units in single day

Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is continuing its remarkable journey of innovation and excellence in the field of power generation. On 29th July BBMB accomplished yet another feat by achieving the highest ever power generation of 625.26 Lakh Units in a single day, surpassing its earlier record of 615.94 Lakh Units set on previous day 28th July. 

In addition to this, BBMB also achieved a maximum peak generation of 2784 Megawatts on the same day surpassing its previous record of 2733 Megawatts achieved on 22nd July of this month.

 

The BBMB chairman Nand Lal Sharma has termed it as a historical achievement. BBMB achieved a record generation of 604.24 Lakh Units on 21st August in the year 2008. This record was smashed



after 15 years first on 24th of this month by generating 615 . 14  Lakh Units of power. Thereafter on 28th July with record generation of 615 . 94 Lakh Units while on 29th July this figure has been pushed to an all-time high of 625 . 26  Lakh Units.

 

BBMB is continuously upgrading the generating capacity of its power plants through Renovation, Modernization & Updating of its generating units to meet the growing energy demands of the nation. The RM&U of Bhakra Left Bank Power House was completed by BBMB in June this year following which the installed capacity of Bhakra Left Bank Power House increased from 540 Megawatt to 630 Megawatt.
