Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred Bhutan's highest civilian award, Order of the Druk Gyalpo, by the country's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck at an event held in Thimphu.

PM Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Bhutan on Friday, his first after the new government took office in the



Himalayan nation.

Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay thanked his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for visiting the Himalayan nation despite the inclement weather and his busy schedule ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. 

"This must be the #ModiKaGuarantee phenomenon," Tobgay tweeted.
