In Bihar, the three-member Central team headed by Principal Secretary (Health Services) arrived at Muzaffarpur to assess the situation arising out Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).

The team visited Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital( SKMCH) and Kejriwal Hospital.

Meanwhile, SKMCH superintendent S K Shahi said the number of seats at the



hospital has gone up to 66 as a general ward with 20 beds has been converted into a paediatric intensive care unit to accommodate more ailing children.

The death toll due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Muzaffarpur and it's adjoining areas reached 164 with three more deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
