Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed officials to ensure proper availability of oxygen along with medicines so that Covid-19 patients do not face any problems. Holding a high - level meeting with officials Mr Kumar instructed them to take all necessary steps to meet the requirement of medical oxygen at all Covid- designated government and private hospitals. He ordered the necessary steps to purchase additional medical oxygen from the state governments fund.
Chief Minister Mr Kumar said 14 thousand vials of Remedesivir injection reached Patna late night by chartered plane from Ahmedabad. It will be distributed among hospitals as per their requirement.
Meanwhile, fresh cases of Covid-19 continue to rise rapidly. Record number of 11
thousand 801 fresh cases were reported in the state yesterday. 142 deaths were also reported. With this, casualties due to pandemic have gone upto two thousand 222. Positivity rate has gone upto over 14 percent. Maximum positive cases of two thousand 720 reported were reported from Patna followed by 655 from Gaya.
Active cases in the state have gone up to 89 thousand 660 and they are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Recovery rate is decreasing and it is now at 77.88 percent. Over three lakh 23 thousand patients have so far recovered from infection.
Over one lakh people took the vaccine yesterday. Over 67 lakh 46 thousand 734 people have so far been vaccinated in the state.
