In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar yesterday dedicated the newly constructed Bapu Tower on the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Patna.
The iconic five-storey building consisting of cylindrical and rectangular structures has several galleries dedicated to the life of the Father of the Nation.
A special section on Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Bihar and Champaran Satyagrah has been aesthetically mounted with audio-visual content for audiences.
The whole campus of Bapu Tower has been spread over seven acres of land of which
six acres have been left for park and other amenities. One of the biggest attractions of the modern time cultural landscape of Bihar, the Bapu Tower has been constructed at 129 crore rupees.
The five-storey building of Bapu Tower has been constructed in the form of a ramp. With its sound and light show, the dedicated building to Mahatma Gandhi is one of the unique memorials to the Father of the nation with a theatre, auditorium and other specifications. The cylindrical building structure has been constructed with more than 40 tonnes of copper.
