Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JDU-BJP coalition government in Bihar has made a significant decision aimed at benefiting the state's youth. During a cabinet meeting held on Friday evening, it was decided that the Bihar government will introduce an "unemployment allowance" for unemployed youth across the state.
The cabinet, under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, approved the Bihar Unemployment Allowance Rules 2024, incorporating
provisions under MNREGA.
According to the newly approved rules, eligible individuals who remain unemployed after applying for jobs will receive a daily unemployment allowance from the state government if they do not secure employment within fifteen days of their application. This allowance aims to support individuals actively seeking employment by providing financial assistance within specified limits, starting from the date of their application.
