In Bihar, the new act which raises the quota of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Extremely Backward and Backward Classes in state government jobs has come into force from Tuesday. The state government published a gazette notification in this regard after the approval of the related bill by Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar.
There is provision to increase the reservation quota for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Extremely Backward and Backward Classes from 50 percent to 65 percent.
In
the same pattern, the act providing an increased quota of reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Extremely Backward and Backward classes from 50 percent to 65 percent has been also notified today.
Earlier the State Legislature had recently passed The Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (For SC, ST and Other Backward Classes) Amendment Bill 2023 and The Bihar ( In Admission in Educational Institution ) Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023 unanimously.
