Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Mamata Mohanta has resigned from the Rajya Sabha yesterday. Chairman of Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar has accepted her resignation. Smt Mohanta, a prominent tribal leader from the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, was elected to the Upper House of the



state in April 2020, and her tenure was till April 2026 in the Rajya Sabha. She has also resigned from the primary membership of the BJD by sending her resignation letter to party president Naveen Patnaik.
