Bhubaneshwar: In Odisha, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has secured more 766 seats out of the total 851 Zilla Parishad seats in the recently held panchayat elections. While the opposition BJP has got 42 seats, Congress could secure only 37. Independent and other



candidates have won seven seats.  

In the three-tier panchayat elections that were held in five phases between the 16th and 24th of this month, more than 2 lakh candidates were in the fray.
