BJP yesterday accused the Delhi government of not taking any concrete steps to curb pollution. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal last year had sought a year to control the problem of air pollution. He said, Mr Kejriwal is now answerable to the people regarding the high level of air pollution.
Meanwhile, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has said that in view of the increasing air pollution in the
national capital, a ban has been imposed on construction and demolition works. He said, apart from this, the operation of BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles has been banned.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr Rai said, Delhi Pollution Control Committee and Revenue Department are monitoring the ban on construction works. He said, 345 water sprinkling machines have been deployed for sprinkling water in the city.
