The BJP has announced the names of five candidates for the biennial elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council, slated to be held on June 11. 

The election has been necessitated as the term of 11 members of the council, elected by MLAs, will expire on June



17.

The notification for the biennial election has been issued on 24 May and the last date for filing of nominations is 31 May. 

Scrutiny of nominations will be held on 1st of June, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 4th of June.
