BJP has appointed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as the party’s Central Observers for its legislature party meeting to elect their leader in Maharashtra. The observers will oversee the election of BJP legislature party leader. The BJP Parliamentary Board has approved their appointment. The swearing ceremony of the new government in Maharashtra will
be held on Thursday.
The BJP led Mahayuti alliance has registered landslide victory in the recently held Assembly Election in Maharashtra. The BJP emerged as the largest party in the 288-member assembly with 132 seats, while its allies Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde got 57 seats and the NCP led by Ajit Pawar secured 41 seats.
