BJP yesterday said that United Nations General Assembly President Dennis Francis has recently praised India for lifting 80 crore people out of poverty and 25 crore people out of multidimensional poverty. Briefing media in New Delhi, senior party leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the UNGA President highlighted how digitalisation and mobile phones significantly improved the lives of 80 crore people.
He said that this achievement, driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital
revolution and pro-poor policies, reflects an unprecedented transformation over the past decade. The UNGA President stated that every country should formulate policies to uplift their poor people similarly. Mr Chandrashekhar said Prime Minister Modi has empowered the poor and farmers, particularly through technical advancements and support. He said internet access has been ensured for 90 crore people and expanded banking facilities to over 52 crore individuals.
