BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has called upon the party MLAs to rise above the temptation of political posts and maintain deep connections with citizens besides prioritizing constituency development. Mr Nadda said posts are transient, but the trust of the people is enduring.

He was addressing the party MLAs during the concluding session of the two-day ‘Vidhayak Prashikshan Shivir’ at Katra yesterday. Mr Nadda further emphasized the need for MLAs to be “good listeners” to effectively resolve public grievances and regularly visit SC/ST communities to ensure inclusive development. He gave certain tips to the party legislators on how to behave and engage with people and advised the legislators to proactively engage with communities through platforms like Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Asha workers’ meetings, and parent-teacher interactions in Government schools. Highlighting the

importance of “Karyakarta Nirman”, Mr Nadda stressed better liaison between elected representatives and office bearers of the organization.

The second day of the training workshop witnessed insightful deliberations on leadership, governance, and public outreach, with speakers underscoring the imperative of organizational training for elected representatives. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who also attended the concluding session, told media persons on the sidelines of the workshop that BJP MLAs are capable enough for evidence-based debate in the Assembly.

Dr Singh said the ruling party needs to be questioned on the non-implementation of key Central schemes in J&K which could not keep pace with other parts of the country. He hoped that BJP MLAs would highlight public issues with logic and facts.
