In Maharashtra, BJP Raigad District President Dhayrsheel Patil and NCP candidate Nitin Patil filed their nominations  for the Rajya Sabha on the final day of filing of nominations. 

Currently, there are two vacancies in the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra. Union



Minister Piyush Goyal, who was previously elected to the Rajya Sabha, won the Lok Sabha seat from Mumbai North. Another senior BJP leader, Udyan Raje Bhosale, who was serving as a Rajya Sabha MP, also contested and won the Lok Sabha seat from Satara.
