BJP President Amit Shah has instructed Maharashtra unit of the party to start preparing for the general elections on their own without depending on the party ally Shiv Sena.
He said that the decision regarding alliance with Shiv Sena will be taken at a higher forum but the state level party should go ahead for preparations for ensuing elections.
Participating in a booth level workers Vistarak meeting yesterday, Mr Shah insisted that each booth should have a formation of 25 youth
for ensuring good turnout of party voters.
A core group of Union and State Ministers from Maharashtra has been formed for preparing the party for the elections.
Mr Shah also met Lata Mangeshkar at her home in Mumbai in the evening as part of the party's "contact for support" campaign.
He was accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP chief Raosabheb Danve and Mumbai unit party president Ashish Shelar.
