Then, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani said that those in the free press who don't stand up today on the side of Arnab, are strategically on the side of despotism.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also condemned the attack on freedom of press in Maharashtra.
In a tweet, he said, this fascist move is a sign of undeclared emergency.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has termed the arrest of television journalist Arnab Goswami as an attack on the freedom of press.
In a tweet, the Minister said, those who really believe in freedom of press must speak up.
