The Bharatiya Janata Party is racing ahead in Maharashtra in the early trends of the counting of votes. As per the latest trend, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is leading on 155 seats out of 210 seats for which trends are available.

The BJP is leading on 105 seats while the Shiv Sena is leading on 50 seats. The Congress-NCP alliance is leading in 46 constituencies. The MNS of Raj Thackeray has not taken lead on any of the seats it contested. But the AIMIM of Asaduddin Owaisi is leading on one seat.

In Haryana, it appears to be a neck and neck in the early trends emerging from the counting of

votes. Till a while ago, the BJP was leading at 37 sets while the Congress was in the lead in 30 constituencies. At the time of writing this report, the figures had changed a bit one more time to give BJP extra cushion in lead.

The BJP was leading at 40 seats while the Congress lost its lead in some of the constituencies to emerge leader in 29 constituencies. Others are leading on five seats.

Polling for Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections was held on October 21. Maharashtra has 288 seats while Haryana has 90 seats in their respective assemblies.
