BJP yesterday attacked former Congress President Rahul Gandhi for not attending a single meeting of Parliament's standing committee on defence and accused him of trying to demoralise the nation.
Party President J P Nadda alleged that Mr. Gandhi skips meetings of all important parliamentary standing committee on defence but continues to demoralise the nation and question the valour of armed forces.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao also said, Mr Gandhi chose not to attend as many as 11 meetings of the Standing Committee held so far.
He alleged that the dynastic family is only
interested in defence matters when commissions are involved.
He demanded an explanation from Mr. Gandhi as to why he chose to be absent from all the meetings of the Standing Committee on Defence.
Meanwhile,Congress has hit back at BJP and accused it of resorting to distraction from the main issue.
Party spokesperson Pawan Khera alleged the government has not called any meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence for the last over three months at this crucial time.
