In a major development, Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation or BMC has decided to close more Covid-19 centres from today. As the cases of Corona are on decline, the BMC has taken this decision. Also, the magnitude in the intensity of patients needing hospitalization has also come down.
BMC additional commissioner Suresh Kakani said that, occupancy number is very low and it is not necessary to run all the centres. Last week, civic body already announced to close centres at Dahisar, NESCO in
Goregaon, Mulund and Kanjurmarg.
Meanwhile, in a related development, state health minister Rajesh Tope Sunday said that, even if the third Corona wave is under control, we should not go in hurry for declaring Maharashtra mask free as of now. He was speaking to media in Jalna. Tope said that, government is mulling for removing many curbs. But, it has to do with a lot of thinking before taking a decision about making the state entirely mask free.
