Senior leader of YSR Congress Party and former minister Botsa Satyanarayana, on Wednesday, took oath as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, after being unanimously elected from the United Visakhapatnam Local Bodies constituency. Satynarayana will remain MLC for three
years.
He was declared the winner without a contest on Friday as the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) did not field their candidate. Though, an independent candidate, Sheik Shafiullah, had filed his nomination, he later withdrew his name from the contest, leading to Satyanarayana’s unanimous victory.
