Brave mothers shave heads in protest against ongoing ethnic crisis in Manipur

7 courageous mothers from Manipur shaved their heads to symbolize the impact of the ongoing crisis that has plagued the state for the past year.

As part of their protest, these women embarked on a cycle rally from Awang Sekmai to the historic Kangla, sending a strong message of peace and unity amidst the turmoil faced by the state. Clad with placards bearing messages like "We Want Peace," "Protect Territorial Integrity of Manipur," and "Protect Indigenous People of



Manipur," the protestors made their voices heard loud and clear.

One of the women participating in the protest highlighted the significance of hair as a symbol of beauty for women. By willingly shaving their heads and joining the rally, these women aimed to convey the depth of their disheartenment over the current crisis. They urged the government to recognize and address the concerns of the mothers of the state who have been deeply affected by the ongoing challenges.
