In Jammu and Kashmir, Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bid along the International Border in Samba district by engaging the infiltrators and forcing them back to Pakistan side.
Quoting a BSF spokesman that a group of five militants reached near the IB taking advantage of undulating ground and thick wild growth.
All nearby BSF duty points were ed and the militants were challenged to stop on
which they opened fire on BSF party with heavy volume.
The BSF troops retaliated and foiled the possible infiltration bid.
Later the area was illuminated by Parabomb and militants were seen fleeing toward Pakistan side.
Strong protest has been lodged with Pakistan Rangers for their help in facilitating militants in infiltrating towards Indian side, said the spokesman.
