Kolkata: In West Bengal, the state budget for the 2021-22 fiscal was placed in the legislative assembly yesterday. Presenting the Budget, state Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee said that the government has proposed to extend the one-time exemption of motor vehicle tax from 1st of July to 31st of December 31 this year. The government has also proposed to reduce
stamp duty by two per cent for registration of deeds, while the circle rate was slashed by ten per cent.
The total budget allocation is Rs 3,08,727 crore, 20.7 per cent more than the last fiscal. Mr. Chatterjee presented the budget as Finance Minister Amit Mitra is indisposed due to ill health.
