Budget session of Assam Legislative Assembly to begin today

Dispur: In Assam, the budget session of the Legislative Assembly will begin today at Dispur in Guwahati. The session will continue till the 5th of April and overall there will be 14 sittings.

The budget session will begin with the address of the Governor. The newly appointed Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will address the members of the house today. Finance minister Ajanta Neog will present the budget on the 16th of this



month.

A few new and amended bills are also expected to be tabled during this session.

Ahead of the session, all the parties held Legislative Party meeting to prepare their strategies.

Opposition parties are likely to corner the government on eviction and action on child marriage issues among others. Security has been beefed up in and around Dispur area for the budget session.
