New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a financial aid of Rs 10 lakh from the CM relief fund to the family of deceased Sumit, who died during protests that also claimed the life of Police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh in Bulandshahr on Monday.
19-year-old Sumit was a second-year student at a degree college in Lakhawati and according to media reports he wanted to join the police force. After receiving bullet injuries Sumit was immediately shifted from Bulandshahr to Anand Hospital in Meerut where he died during treatment.
Addressing the media, Prashant Kumar, ADG Meerut Zone informed that Sumit's name was also present in the FIR but no action can be taken against him even if his crime is proved because he is dead.
The ADG also informed that as the UP government has
constituted a Special Investigation Team the decision regarding this issue will be taken by it only.
However, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Bhola Singh, told ANI the administration has assured that name of the deceased will be removed from the FIR and district administration has already announced financial aid of Rs 5 lakh for his family. Singh also added that request for a job for a family member will be forwarded to the Chief Minister through District Magistrate for consideration.
Police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was killed in clashes. Meanwhile, three accused connected to the incident have been sent to a 14-day judicial custody by the District Court.
A compensation of Rs 40 lakh for the wife of the deceased, Rs 10 lakh for parents and a government job for one member of the family has been announced by UP CM.
