The preliminary post-mortem report of 11 members of a family, who were found hanging inside their house in Sant Nagar area of Burari in New Delhi, has ruled out homicide.
"The report says that all of them died due to hanging. The bodies will be handed over to family members after other legal formalities. The bodies will be cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat," said a police official.
The Delhi police have recovered two hand-written registers from one of the rooms and also have recovered eight stools
used during the suicide from the house. "It appears to be a suicidal pact. Because no person showed any kind of resistance," police added.
In the notes, procedure to perform the 'puja' was clearly mentioned. Police has also recovered seven mobile phones and one tablet from the house. All phones were in silent mode. "All the devices and locker in which gold and cash was kept was covered with white tape," said a police official. The police said that they have procured CCTV from an adjacent building and it will be examined.
