Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that the Cabinet meeting to be held on Thursday will discuss the overall Covid situation in the state and take appropriate decisions on the long term measures to tackle the Omicron variant.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru yesterday, he informed that a meeting will be held with the expert committee tomorrow evening and following the suggestions given by them appropriate measures will be initiated to control the pandemic. The measures he clarified will not affect the daily life of the people. He urged the people to show self restraint and follow the Covid norms.
Speaking during the launch of
vaccination for children in the age group of 15 and 18, the Chief Minister said that various measures are taken for the protection against Covid and vaccination campaign is one among them. He assured that the state is fully equipped to face any challenge posed by a surge in the pandemic.
Medical infrastructure has been ramped up, RT PCR test report and double dose vaccination is made mandatory for inbound passengers, contract tracing is implemented and border areas monitored strictly. Mr. Bommai said that about 4.41 lakh children between 15 and 18 will be vaccinated today among which Bengaluru alone will vaccinate 30,000 of them.
